1 SHAKU(尺)= 11.93“英寸

*Please note that non-RSR members are subject to higher seminar fees.

TESTING AND RANKING

Ryushin Shouchi Ryu follows a dan/kyu system like that used for many other modern martial art forms. All Dan ranking is overseen by Kunikazu Yahagi, Soke.

Most of these rankings are awarded to students when they visit the Honbu and test or during official RSR seminars hosted by Yahagi Sensei. Official RSR instructors (Shihan-dai, Shidoin, and Jun Shidoin) can award rankings up to 1st KYU (3rd KYU, 2nd KYU and 1st KYU), independently of Japan. After being awarded 1st KYU, students will then be eligible for Shodan (based on their headmaster’s recommendation).

The awarding of rank reflects progress in the Ryushin Shouchi Ryu curriculum. A student who attends class regularly can expect to test for shodan (first-degree black belt) in two to three years.

Regular rankings occur every two to three years, up to the rank of yondan (fourth-degree black belt). Godan (fifth degree) rank is usually attained ten years after yondan, at which time the student is permitted to teach on her own if they wish.

Testing and certificate fees are determined by Japan
and are not included in your monthly and annual dues.

The fees are determined by the current Yen-Dollar exchange rate.

HOW DO I FIND OTHER AFFILIATED RYUSHIN SHOUCHI RYU SCHOOLS?

The Ryushin Shouchi Ryu organization has dojos across the globe with multiple dojos
in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Schools are listed by geographic region
and are assisted by REGIONAL SUPPORTERS (Shidoin and Jun Shidoin). Find there
nearest AFFILIATED RSR DOJO near you.

Dojos wishing to join the Ryushin Shouchi Ryu organization can begin the
4 STEP – AFFILIATE DOJO APPLICATION PROCESS

HOW CAN I JOIN THE SEISEIKAN DOJO (HONBU)?

New students should contact the Honbu directly and schedule a meeting with Yahagi Sensei.
Please contact Kunikazu Yahagi Sensei

TEL:080-6799-3366
yahagi@seiseikan.name

Another option is to be introduced directly by a current member.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF RYUSHIN SHOUCHI RYU?

For individuals it’s easy
– Pay the annual RSR dues* and begin training under a licensed RSR instructor /study group.

– Fill out and submit the RSR Membership Application After the application is approved you will be given an RSR Passport, this will be stamped at official RSR seminars as well as proof that you had attended and paid your annual RSR dues.

*Annual RSR dues are determined by the Honbu in Japan
RSR Dues/Testing Chart

HOW DO DOJOS BECOME AFFILIATED WITH THE RSR ORGANIZATION?

We are excited to welcome new dojos (and individuals) wishing to study and join the Ryushin Shouchi Ryu (RSR) organization. To have your school become an affiliated RSR dojo, you will have to go through our simple 4 STEP AFFILIATED DOJO PROCESS. Please note that these steps are being implemented to help ensure a certain level of commitment as well as the successful establishment of new RSR Study Groups.

HOSTING RSR SEMINARS

Only after an RSR study group has been established will that group be allowed to host Seminars with Yahagi Sensei. This will also have to be coordinated with Regional Supporters as part of the annual RSR Seminar (so as to better accommodate Yahagi Sensei’s travel schedule). This way the larger organization can assist with cross promotions as well as help pay for expenses. RSR TESTING & CERTIFICATE FEES* – All testing and certificate fees are determined by Japan and are not included in your annual dues. 50% of testing fees collected by regional heads (Renshi) are paid to the Honbu in Tokyo, while the remaining 50% remain in a regional RSR account. The fees are determined by the current Yen-Dollar exchange rate.

*RSR follows a dan/kyu system like that used for many other modern martial arts. Ranking in RSR is overseen by Kunikazu Yahagi, Soke. Only certified senior members (Renshi) can award rankings up to 3 – 1 KYU, independently of Japan. Rankings are awarded to students when they visit Japan or during regional and annual seminars with Yahagi Sensei. The awarding of rank reflects progress in the RSR curriculum. For ranks of Shodan and above – dojo heads must submit recommendations and will be required to submit testing application forms.
